Gabriel

My sister called me today to tell me about her adventure to carl's jr. with Gabe. I may get some of the story wrong, and I may even leave stuff out. But since I was laughing my butt off by the end of the story, I had to blog about it because Gabe never ceases to make me laugh!
Danielle took Gabe to carls jr. before she had to go to work this afternoon. He was playing on the kiddie playset or whatever you want to call it. According to my sister, it is a huge playset. She said he was crawling through the jungle gym and was going to go down this twisty tube slide, which according to my sister was also huge. Danielle was at the bottom of the slide waiting for Gabe to come down the slide. He informed her that he was too scared to come down the slide. She told him it was ok, and to just come down the slide. Then she heard thump thump thump. She asked Gabe what that noise was and he said "it was my shoes, did you get dem mommy?" Then a second later she sees his socks come down the slide. Then Gabe said "did you get my socks mommy?" I don't remember what Danielle's response to this was. She then proceeded to climb up the slide to get Gabe down. This attempt was unsucessful. She then crawled out of the slide and started ordering Gabriel to come down the slide immediately. This did not work either. He told her to come and get him, she told him that she couldn't come through the jungle gym maze and come get him, and he would just have to either come back the way he came or come down the slide and she would catch him. I am unclear on exactly how she managed to get him down because at this point I was laughing my head off. I think she ended up climbing all the way up the twisty tube slide to rescue Gabriel. For those of you who know Gabe, this story should be rather comical to you as well. For those of you who don't, you may not find this as funny as I did. Whether you found it funny or not, I found it hilarious. Probably because when Danielle called me she was already laughing, and because I can just picture Gabe at the top of the slide taking off his shoes and socks and sending them down the slide, and then refusing to send himself down the slide. Gabriel, you are hilarious!

Mornings

This morning when I opened my eyes, I wished that my little human alarm clocks would just stay sleeping for a little while longer. My bed was so comfortable and I woke up with a headache. Not that waking up with headaches is a new thing for me, but it doesn't make getting out of bed any easier. I just wanted to sleep some more. That is until I heard Jax yawn and stretch on the monitor, and I heard Ella jabbering. Suddenly it didn't matter that I was still sleepy, and it didn't matter how bad my head hurt. Just like every morning, I could not wait to get up and start my day with my kids. No matter how early they wake up, and no matter what kind of temper tantrums the day brings. I look forward to each day with my kids. I can't wait to hear all of the funny things that Jax is going to say, and I can't wait to see what new thing Ella will learn to do today. While my bed is extremely comfortable and sleep feels oh so good. Spending time with my kids is waaaay better. Grumpiness and temper tantrums included. Besides, who wouldn't want to wake up to these faces?

This is why I get out of bed every morning.

Bills

My beautiful, darling children were on a mission to drive me insane earlier today. I had some bills to pay, which had I been smart enough I would have paid them while Ella was taking one of her two naps today. However, I was not smart enough to even think about these stupid bills that come every month no matter how bad I wish they wouldn't until AFTER both of Ella's naps. Im lucky I even remembered them at all. I set Ella on the floor with what I thought was an ample amount of toys to keep her occupied for a little while, and Jax was playing with his legos. I figured it wouldn't be too difficult to pay these bills quickly while the kids entertained themselves. WRONG!!!!! Jaxson started running around the room like a mad man, and Ella sat at my feet and whined. I asked Jaxson to just settle down for a minute while mommy did this and then he could go outside. This little bribe of mine did not work. He completely ignored me (he must get this from his dad) and continued acting like a caveman on speed. Ella just continued to whine and cry at my feet and say mamamamamamamama until I thought I was going to scream. So I decided to pick her up, this made her stop crying but she just started hitting the keyboard and trying to stick her finger up my nose. So I put her back down on the floor. Again she started crying and giving me the saddest look you have ever seen. Although at the time I didn't think the face was that cute, I was just trying to keep my cool with my kids. Which I mananged to do, and pay the stupid bills. I did learn an important lesson today. In the future I will ALWAYS pay my bills while my beautiful, wonderful children are sound asleep in their beds. This is necessary in order to keep my sanity. Miraculously the moment I was done paying these bills, my son started acting like a human being again and my daughter returned to the sweet innocent little girl that she is.

No I do not have a picture for this post. I didn't think any of you wanted to see a picture of me tearing my hair out.

Preschool!

Yesterday was Jaxson's first day of preschool. This is his second year of preschool, and next year he will be going to kindergarten. When he woke up yesterday morning he was so excited to go to preschool. It was "red" day yesterday. He wore a red shirt and got to take a red show and tell. He chose his fire truck for show and tell, this was of course after much deliberation he had to make sure he had the perfect show and tell. Nick had the day off yesterday, so he got to come with to drop Jax off at preschool. Jax was a little hesitant when we first pulled up to preschool, but he was a big boy and got out of the car and blew Nick and I a kiss. He took his teachers hand and walked in to school. When Nick and I picked him up he came out with a grin plastered on his face. He showed us what he had done and told us all about it. I can't believe he is so grown up. I am so proud of him!

Gardener

This year I decided to plant some tomatoes, instead of begging my mom for some every year. I'm no skilled Gardener, nor am I willing to try to be one. However, I figured a couple of tomato plants couldn't be too difficult. I have been successful in my tomato growing all because of all of the help I have received from my Gardener. Not only is he a very big help when it is time to pick the tomatoes, but he is devastatingly handsome. He goes out everyday and monitors the progress of my tomatoes, and quickly alerts me when they are ready to be picked. He does not like to eat these tomatoes however, but that just leaves more for me. Maybe next year I can attempt to grow some cucumbers with the help of my handsome Gardener! I was able to sneak a few pictures of my Gardener last night when he was picking the tomatoes.

Cabin

On sunday morning Nick and I decided to take the kids up to my dads cabin and spend the night. Everyone else was already up there and we thought Jax would think it was cool to play with Gabe, and ride the 4-wheelers. When we asked Jax if he wanted to go up to Papa Kirk's cabin for the night, he was so excited. He said to me "Mom, im so happy that it makes my tears come out." Jax got his backpack and immediately started the task of deciding which toys to take up to the cabin. After he had found the perfect toys, and we had packed our clothes we left. Jax was rather impatient on the drive there as you can see from the picture. Ella decided this was a good time to get some beauty rest.

When we FINALLY (according to Jax) made it up to the cabin Jax was so excited! He instantly hopped on the 4wheeler with his uncle Obeey. Yes, I realize he does not have a helmet on, but it was just a short ride and Colby went very slow.

Of course the minute we pulled into the cabin Jax wanted to go on ANOTHER ride because that one wasn't long enough. So Gabe and Jax put on their helmets and went for another ride. When they got back of course Jax wanted to go again, but it was time for lunch. After lunch Nick and I took Jax down to where there were a few horses. We took a couple of carrots so that Jax could feed them to the horses. He loved feeding the horses, he didn't want to pet the horses he just wanted to feed them and look at them.
Jax went on several 4wheeler rides and played with Gabe. He had a blast spending time with his Papa Kirk. Ella even got to sit on a 4wheeler too!

Shoes

I took Jaxson the other day to get some new shoes for preschool. It took quite some time for him to find shoes that were COOL enough for him. Every pair I would hold up he would say "mom, those shoes are not cool enough for me" of course he would use his big boy voice when he was saying this. I would laugh when he would tell me this and he would sigh, apparently he thought I did not understand the importance of finding the perfect shoe. Finally, after trying on several pairs of spiderman, lightning mcqueen, and incredible hulk shoes. We found the perfect shoe! But then we discovered it was not his size, his reaction to this was OH DARN IT! Luckily I found the "perfect" shoe in his size. He was thrilled, he couldn't wait to get home and put them on. When we were getting ready to go on our nightly walk Jax put on his new shoes and looked at me and said "Hey mom, I got a great idea! I should take a picture of my cool new shoes!" I told him that was a great idea, so he went and got the camera. These are the pictures that Jax took all by himself of his super cool shoes!
