Letter to Santa

Last night Jaxson decided it was time to write a letter to Santa, he wanted to make sure that Santa knew exactly what he wanted for Christmas. Since he has been a very good boy this year, with the exception of a few temper tantrums, he is very confident that he will get these presents. So last night daddy helped Jax write his very special letter to santa...
Just in case you cant read the letter it says he would like a remote control monster truck and a guitar. Fortunately I have inside information from santa's elves and they have already made these toys for Jax and they are ready to be put on the sleigh christmas eve. Did I mention how good Jax is getting at writing his letters?? He practices everyday!

Gingerbread sleigh

So I'm a little late on this post. If you can believe it I have been a little busy lately. Last week Jaxson made a gingerbread sleigh! We were at target and he spotted the kit to make this sleigh and he insisted that we buy it so that he could make it. I think he may have just wanted the candy and frosting that came in the kit. As soon as we came home he could not wait to make it. He did request that his sister be put in her highchair so that she did not try and ruin his sleigh, even though it was on the counter and she couldn't reach. He thought it was fun to squeeze the frosting out of the tube and put in on the sleigh. Some of the frosting even mysteriously got into Jaxson's mouth...wonder how that happened? I thought Jaxson was going to fall on the floor laughing when some of the frosting flew out of the tube and onto my pants and the floor. Unfortunately I didn't realize the frosting was on the floor until I had stepped in it, which resulted in Jaxson once again laughing hysterically. Needless to say Jax and I had a lot of fun making the sleigh and he was so excited to show it to his daddy when he got home from work.

Weekend adventure

Since we were in Heber for our polar express adventure my mom rented a condo for all of us to stay in for the weekend. We had Grandma Thomson with us too since it was her birthday on saturday, it was so much fun to have her with us. The condo was really nice and Jax thought it was fun to be on an adventure for the weekend. After the train ride we came back to the condo and had snacks and watched movies. On saturday morning we woke up and fixed breakfast and relaxed around the condo for a while. Later that afternoon we went swimming which the kids obviously loved. Ella did not want to get out of the pool. After we were done swimming we went back to the condo and got ready to go on a wagon ride. It was so much fun to bundle up and go on a wagon ride. The kids loved the horses that were pulling the wagon and we got to see some of the pretty christmas lights. After the wagon ride we went to dinner which was yummy, and they brought Grandma a cake for her birthday. After dinner we went back to the condo and got in our jammies and relaxed some more around the condo. This morning we packed up and went to brunch at some good friends house before heading home. It was such a fun weekend, it was nice to spend time with the family relaxing and having fun! Thanks mom!

Polar Express Adventure

On friday night we got to ride on the "Polar Express" aka the heber valley railroad. It was decorated inside for Christmas and we went to the north pole. They gave us hot chocolate and chocolate chip cookies. The kids thought it was so much fun to be on a train! When we got to the "North Pole" santa even came on our train. Jaxson and Gabe's faces lit up when they saw him!We read the polar express book and sang christmas songs. We even sang Happy Birthday to Grandma Thomson because her birthday was on saturday. They even had some of santa's elves on the train with us. Towards the end of the train ride some of the elves were telling jokes and they asked if any of the kids had a joke they wanted to tell. Jaxson was sitting on my mom's lap and his hand shot up in the air as soon as they asked that. They told him to come up to the front of the train and tell everyone his joke. I didn't think he would walk up there and tell a joke, I didn't even know he had a joke to tell! But he marched right up to the front of the train, took the microphone and said "What has four legs and doesn't move? A TABLE!" Everyone busted up laughing!! It was hilarious. Nick and I were shocked that he went up there and did that. Jax was pretty proud of himself for doing that too. Jaxson loved the train, and when we got off he told me that he couldn't wait to dream about our polar express adventure.

How does it look mom?

Last week Jaxson and I were decorating for Christmas, which he was so excited about. He has his very own Christmas tree in the family room that he gets to decorate all by himself, and he does such a wonderful job too! Since we have a tree in the living room that mommy gets to decorate the way she wants it we figured it would be fun to have a tree that the kids get to decorate, although Ella doesn't really get to help yet. Jaxson takes his tree decorating job very seriously, he had attempted to start decorating it before Ella went down for her nap, but Jax didn't think she was a very big help considering the fact that she would just take the decorations off as fast as he could put them on. After being patient with her for about 2 minutes he decided he had had enough and proceeded to go into full on temper tantrum mode, Ella decided she didn't want to be left out of the tantrum so she joined in. After I had finished laughing at the two of them on the floor throwing fits, I told Jax that he could just finish decorating the tree when Ella took her nap. When I took Ella upstairs to put her to sleep Jax said "FINALLY! Now I can get back to decorating my tree. Im gonna make it look beautiful!" He would put a few ornaments on the tree, stop and smile and say "how does it look mom?" I think he asked me this at least 10 times while he was decorating, everytime I would tell him it looked beautiful he would say "I know mom, im REALLY good at dis." He was worried that when his sister woke up she would try to take the decorations off the tree but to his amazement, and mine she has left them alone. Which is good because I dont want any more double temper tantrums.

Ella

Last night when I gave Ella her dinner I decided to give her a spoon, the last time I did this I wound up with a giant mess so I have been a little hesitant to do it again. She just grinned at me when I handed her the spoon. I figured there was a good possibility that I was going to have another mess on my hands by the time she was finished eating, but I decided I would just let her daddy take care of the mess. I'm thoughtful aren't I? At first she thought it was fun to stick the spoon into the bowl and attempt to actually get her macaroni and cheese onto the spoon and into her mouth. She quickly gave up on eating with the spoon and decided to hold the spoon in one hand and shovel the food into her mouth with the other hand. It's not that she couldn't eat with the spoon, it's that it was taking too long for her to get the food onto the spoon and into her mouth and like most 15 month olds, she does not have a lot of patience for such things. But it was so cute to watch her try and eat with the spoon, and she was so proud of herself. She also figured out it's fun to put the bowl (with mac and cheese still in it) on her head. Im SOOO glad it was daddy's turn to clean her up!!

Walking!! Finally

We are happy to report that princess Ella is now walking!! Finally! Since she is 15 months now. She has been working on taking a couple of steps here and there and standing all by herself for the last couple of weeks and yesterday she just started walking across the room! She can walk across the family room, turn around and walk all the way back. All with a huge grin on her face! She still likes to crawl sometimes because she can get where she wants to go faster if she crawls, and when Ella wants something she does not want to have to wait for it. Last night she thought she was so cool because she would take a few steps then stop and look at us and start dancing then start walking again. When I got her out of bed this morning and brought her downstairs I set her on the floor and she instantly stood up and grinned and started walking, she got a little frustrated when the foot of her jammies made her fall down but she got right back up! We are so proud of you princess!!
